From what I've read these Duratec's are very oil sensative. Most all oil change places put up to 5 qts. oil at a change, these cars need more than that. Once I get my car back next week with my new engine am I going to have to tell the oil change place that the car needs an extra quart at a change? How much oil do you put in your Duratec?

Bad! eek

I suggest you read the manual!

I use & recommend 6qts for the SVT

Std is 5.5qts older duratec and 5.8qt newer (use the search to find the year split I don't remember off hand and this topic has been done to death)

Not that anyone should benchmark my engine (save for a few folks), but mine takes 5.5 qts to read full on the dipstick. The oil pan baffle probably robs some volume in the oil pan. Because we had to "customize" my pickup tube to get it to fit, I know it's pretty close to bottom so starvation would be pretty unlikely. I keep a very close eye on that nasty oil light.

svttour, your oil light ever go off when driving, especially when turing right? Really bad mojo that light is! 4.5 qts is WAY too low. Don't want you to end up like me with a shot motor, unless you have a few grnd laying around and want to drop it on a 3.0 cool
