Yup, although I dropped it off at the dealership this morning (for the 5th time to get the same damn problem fixed!).

I don't mean any disrespect, but I am not really a Beemer man.
I never really liked a BMW, and probably just never will.

Thanks for the run down.

I've now got a list of things to look out for.
As I drive these cars, I'll see if my conclusions matched yours.

IMO stay away from a first year car. I don't have any nubers to back it up but it always seems the kinks get worked out by the third year. Plus were'nt you mad at Ford over the tranny problem? If so buying a Mazda is putting money in their pocket.

Good luck.

I would expect that with ANY American version of a foreign car.
I once owned a 1987 Mitsubishi Mirage.
BEST small car I ever owned next to my 1995 Ford Escort Wagon.
The Dodge Colt was its american couterpart.
The Colt didn't come with as many features as the Mirage,
and it was WAY TOO SLOW !!
The Mirage ran circles around the Colt.

I would expect the same between the Matrix and the Vibe.
I wish Pontiac would give up the car altogether.

Pete, if you're interested in the WRX, I suggest waiting till next years model when they update the front end. They are getting rid of the bug eye headlights and replacing them with a lamp assembly that sort of looks like the BMW lamps. The car looks 1000X's better IMO.

If ya want, I could do a search for it.

Thanks for the heads up !
I won't actually be buying until the spring of 2003, so I've got time to wait.
I've already inquired about the WRX, and everyone has told me to get the 03 and not the 02.
Now I just hasv to ask about the STi.

The STi comes with the ugly gold wheels only according to what I read elsewhere. I hate them gold wheels.

I bet John says he loves them too, LOL!
