So what is the count at?! People need to stop saying ex-military. I know about 600 people in Mason Co., MI that can make the shots he has. 150 yards with a 306 and a scope, no sweat.

I don't see anyone that's limited the possibility to ex-military. It really doesn't matter who it is. This is out of hand and this a$$clown needs to be stopped. I'm not directly in harms way but my grandparents live in that area and I'm pissed off and terrified for their safety right now.

I have the perfect ending in my mind for this evil POS...
Remember the movie "Saving Private Ryan" and the American sniper vs the German sniper... The German is looking through his scope for his next American victim only to see a sniper looking back at him (about a millisecond too late)...German has just enough time to realize he is screwed...as a bullet is traveling through his own scope toward his eye.

This is the 8th death this a**hole has caused! Two other shootings have caused injuries, and another was just through a window. This is out of hand!

I don't think it's the shooting ability itself that leads people to think ex-military, it's the almost invisible nature this person seems to have when looking for a victim. Not that it's really out of reach of the everyday civilian, but the public immediately brings to mind military training when something like this happens in such a stealth fashion.
When we did marksmanship training in the Marines, we started 200 meters from the target and progressed back to 500 w/out scopes. That was everyone. I don't know exactly what a true sniper's range is, but I'm sure it makes 200 yards look like a frisbee toss.

The first group of 5 shooting were within 1-4 miles of my house... For those of you who don't really know what's going on, go to CNN - there's a timeline that lays out who, where and when the shootings occurred - "Interactive: Sniper's trail, the victims".
