When I turn on my A/C, it smells like cat urine for the first minute.

What up?

Yeah, replacing the filter is easy - just make sure you note the orientation of the old one when you take it out. There's only one way to get the filter in, and it isn't fun if you do it wrong.

BTW, do you have a cat who might be responsible for the odor? :p

You can always spray in a fungus kill spray.
It basically kills the fungus that grows sometimes in the vents from the ac..cost like $10, worth while to try that first.
(AC SPRAY OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT) :p

Do you smoke? Do you run the AC on MAX? You don't want that smokey air recirculating back through the coil. I learned that lesson real bad with my last car. That, or a cat p!ssed into your car.

Recap of the above. Change your cabin air filter, and (while AC is on MAX) spray some Lysol or similar anti-bacterial freshener into the return ducts to kill any mold that is in the ducts.
