Will a drivetrain alignment be necessary after I replace my tranny mount? I am replacing a shot mount with the SVT mount (upgrade from '95 version). If so, would there be any place were I could rent the tool?

I thought the alignment is only for the subframe where you have to line up those holes. I don't see how you can mess up the other alignments and still be able to put the mount on correctly anyway.

The slots in the mounts allow for a certain amount of adjustment. The Ford Service Manual talks about 'neutralizing' or 'normalizing' the mounts. Apparently, if I read it correctly, a mis-aligned mount can bind and allow vibrations to be transmitted from the engine to the cabin. I have just 'normalized' my front mount, and it reduced a lot of the vibration that I was feeling in the steering wheel and floor.
