Hi all,
I was wondering if the person who owned a (I think 98) T-Red SVT Contour and just traded it at York VW is a member af the CEG. The car is lowerd,17 inch 6 spoke sport edition rims,B&M short throw shifter with a ball style shift knob. The car has 108,000 miles on it and it is missing one jacking point cover on the side skirts. I was wondering if there was anything wrong with the car other than it has a lot of miles.
Thanks,
Pete

What has the miles go to do with it? For 108,000 miles to be on it, it has to be highway miles. Highway miles don't beat on a car like city miles or just STANDING in the weather does.

Those aren't highway miles.. A 98 is 5 years old now.. 20K miles a year, and you're at 100K already. Way too many things that can go wrong with this car at this point, unless they're practically giving it away.

Cartman,
Where did you learn your math ??
Most 03 cars haven't starting selling yet, only the early releases. My 98 was built 11/28/97. It still has over a month to turn 5. There were over 218,000 of these built, with most of them being 98.5 vehicles. There are a LOT of 98.5s that are still 4 years old.
2002 - 1998 = 4

I'm gonna guess you didn't read my first two words: "For me". That was my opinion that I posted. For that milage, that car better not cost more than $9,ooo. And for everything you posted on this thread, I haven't seen you give the guy one bit of advice, just criticize others.

see that the thing. He only want $5900.00 for it. I could et it for $4500.00 - $5000.00 cash but the onlyreason i didnt get it is because of the miles. that why I asked if it was anyones on here so I can see what it has been threw. It looks like a really clean car other then the high miles.

Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me. Mine just rolled over 101,000 coming back from Philly today and it runs strong. Well, except for the alignment and the torque steer and stuff...
