This topic is for Serious Duratec Power Hungry Junkies looking for advancment of this motor and taking it to new leaps and bounds.

Well I've been working out some things with our shop in Cali and we're finally ready to start doing wonders for the Duratec Heads.

I'm looking for a minimum of 3-5 people, preferably 5 to have there heads CNC ported along with a Competition 5-angle valve job. The process will do wonders on a 3.0 conversion swap as well as forced induction and should easily bump the 2.5 beyond 200@wheels. First we will examine and find the best possible size ports, possibly per application, but more than likely a basic number that we will shoot for on the axis machine that will work for all our motors, no matter what the mods. The 5-angle valve job will do away with the 1-angle and give more angles for better seating, better swirl and a quicker entry of air. I'll REPEAT this once more: "The CNC process will be optimized for our motors for the bess possible output!"

I'm starting a Group Buy in the GB Section, if you're interested in this go there, if you have any questions post or email me.......Thanks

We're also considering regrind cams and seeing what we can do to the valvetrain to make it more tolerant to a bit more radical cam profiles, Something I will be discussing with Terry Haines. I hope we can eventually produce a complete 3-Liter program with all the tools for a strong N/A motor, in excess of or about 300hp. I'm aware of SHO's 3.5 but they don't expect anything to be ready till sometime in spring, if it does happen all I can say is with these CNC heads, Re-Extrude Hone the already Extrude Honed SVT Intake Manifolds, a full exhaust, fuel programming, optimized/blueprinted injectors via RC Engineering and a larger TB and MAF, we're talking some insane hp/tq numbers....

so you're gonna out do the 3.5??

In terms of cost benefit analysis,
Would this be cheaper than a 3.5L conversion (priced at probably $4000)
For the hp increase, is it better to go this route versus forced induction?
Are we supposed to gut our car and ship the engine components to you?

Would these be a direct replacement for our current heads, or would other parts need to be changed?
Props to you again, Micah, for getting new stuff started for the Duratec. Have you and bnoon talked to eachother about eachother's heads?

I'm really open to discussing anything with any engine builders here on CEG. The fact is the heads will work with any shortblock 2.5/3.0/3.5. All we'll be doing is opening up the ports on the heads and doing valve work, at least that's the initial task though we may at the time be equiped and ready to also do valvetrain work like springs ect.ect..

I really need to talk to Terry H. about all this, get some opinions from him + I hope that both of us can arrange a buildup program, even BNOON. This modification to the Heads will work for either N/A or Forced Induction. This mod alone on a well equiped motor can net up to a real 30 horsepower. Like I mention this should bump most well modded 2.5's right into the 200+hp@wheels range, though this is just speculation, if our calculations are correct this should be about right.

I need "again", 5 Serious Contour/Cougar Owners to get this program started. This will be another turning point for the Duratec Program, at least for street vehicles.

If you're interested plz email me or post here. I'd love to see this up and rolling before the end of this year. ONce we have a program set for our heads, we can CNC Duratec Heads anytime, and on a regular basis single or as a group.

People I'm looking for: Those running Forced Induction, those that have reached, or near the threshold of 2.5 N/A performance and those with 3liter conversions.

Great..glad someone is getting a more fully developed head package together for us. I assume 3L valve for the 2.5? Too bad we are buying a house now..maybe next year. nuts.

Thanks..

Oh, and yeah I agree 200+ FWHP is pretty much a given with the right I/H/E, final tuning..

You know for some of you that may not know what this whole thing is about, do a search on CNC process. This method of porting is used in most all racing venues as well as on aftermarket aluminum heads, domestic and import. For the most unpopular vehicles on the street you won't find such an option. So folks start to let your mind wander, imagine the possibilities and just think about it, this could be the beginning of something really special plus a crop of new mods for the Duratec such as custom grind cams and heck maybe even a custom sheet metal intake manifold for more racing purposes may fall right inline. I can already start on the CNC Billet Aluminum 65/63mm Throttle Bodies if the interest is there.

As you can see, I as well as a number of others are trying to make a mark for the Duratec. This is a great designed/built motor with big potential. the Movement is on, it's time to jump aboard!!

It's time for the DURATEC to start making some crazy power

Well I spoke to Terry, looks to be that he has a number of heads sitting in his shop. He'll be taking some measurements than we'll basically go from there. The porting will be computer generated to exact dimensions needed to make consistent power gains across the board. Most power gains will come from the CNC process though 5angle valve job will also compliment the heads for increase power, swirl and smoother entry of air + a much better seating of valves.

Larger valves can be done for those that need it.

Why do all the deals like this come out AFTER I dish out a bunch of money and time to have my heads worked on?! I just wish I could have gotten in on this before I did the hand porting and fit the 3L valves with 3 angle valve job...

Now we're talking!

Once you get to a certain level of mods with a Contour, it gets very difficult to find anything that allows you to go that extra step.

Gets a bit frustrating
