No. The serpentine belt gets power from the crankshaft pulley and distributes power to other areas, such as the power steering and A/C. And I don't see how a belt could bend a valve, since the belt is external to the engine and the valve is internal to the engine.
Timing belt is something completely different that is beyond my knowledge. Maybe someone else can explain.
