anyone ever try to make the reflctor plate light up. how is it done on the lincolns? thatd be a different touch. any thoughts?? l8r.

Throw some LEDs.....or bulbs in there. I think Milan is working on something like this, get with him.

The MarkVIIIs use a neon strip in the reflector, the Thunderbirds use LEDs that were custom made by HP for ford.
the neons give a more even glow, but the LEDs would be easier to put into your reflector. In the Thunderbirds they work off of 4 banks of LEDs arranged like [12341234123412341234] each number is a different circut, which is why some that you see out there have stripes of no light.

cool thanks i always wondered what made it look so even. i wasnt about ready to go tearin up someones lincoln tho. anyone goin to pursue this feat or is there anyone with working pics??

Yes, HPP was working on this, I saw the prototype at the National meet in Dallas!
Also, IIRC the Mark VIII used a Xenon gas to light up the rear center reflector, hence the reason it had a quicker reaction time than the standard brake lights. You can even see a difference between LEDs and standard bulbs if you watch closely.
