I have 2 ford filters in my garage, one says "made in Canada" and the other says "made in USA". The Canadian one is glossy white has M22 stamped on it and has 8 large holes around the perimeter. The made in USA filter is a dull white color with ZZ stamped on it and it only has 6 smaller holes around the perimeter. Both were bought at the same dealership. The one that says "made in Canada looks like a better filter because of the larger holes both inside and outside the filter. I don't understand why they would be different.

frank could u describe the inside of the 2 filters 2 me,i hope they switched 2 the purolators not 2 fram crap ass filters,if u like the wix filters both uap and carquest sell them 4 cheapeer then ford does

Roland, I now have the filters in front of me and they are as I have described above. The one that says "made in Canada" looks like it is a better filter then the one that says "made in USA". The holes around the perimeter are much larger and there are 8 of them instead of the 6 smaller holes on the "made in USA' filter. Looking inside the filter the "made in Canada" filter again has larger holes and it appears to also have more holes. Both filters were bought at the same place but at different times. Bothe part # FL-820S.

A third supplier?
Every supplier have to meet Ford's specification
any oil filter with Ford's name for a
specific application must have similar
characteristic so it's not a tragedy
to have different supplier for what i
know every compagnies are doing that.
Anyway if you want K&N oil filter
go to "Canadian Tires" you can have them
special order the next day for 16 or 17$ CND

i picked one up the other day they r the same as the ac delco filters i've been using 4 aawhile now,they r the same filter they buse in the vets so i'd imagine trhey r pretty good
