OK, I've recently(three days ago) upgraded to the ShoShop Y-pipes, Brullen exhaust, and ShoShop intake. Tonight during a strafing run on my favorite divided interstate, the CEL began to flash as I passed 105mph and turned off after coasting back down through 100. What gives?
Any input would be appreciated, as my local dealer would comment that they aren't interested in anything that occurs beyond posted speed limits.

CEL still on? If so, make a run up to Charlotte, I'll scan it for ya, see what it is.

A flashing CEL means a miss fire is occurring.

Time to check the plugs. Better yet replace them (& the wires too perhaps) if you have not done so in a while.

Also good to check the coil.

Get the code scanned (it should store a code IIRC) to determine which cylinder it is. Autozone or JVT is your ticket.

The in-laws had a misfire CEL on their 96 Bonneville and I had to replace a plug wire (high resistance) as well as an individual coil (also high resistance). Nice thing about GM coil packs is that you can swap individual coils, instead of the whole set like ours.

yeah but then since you've got the pack apart you might as well change all of them cause you never know when the others will fail.

No, the CEL stopped when I went below 100, I'll try changing the plugs and wires...hopefully the coil(s) are still good.

We'll have to get together anyway JVT, no CSVT's out here in Shelby!!
