Terry-

Maybe I should give you my dealer's phone number! I agree...the diagnostic skills being demonstrated here are just absolutely ludicrous. I mean, after three "bad" trannies in a row, you'd think someone there might start to wonder if it's not the transmission, but something in the car it's bolted onto that's the problem.

Meantime, I have the car back, while they await the necessary clutch parts.

Perhaps you should contact Troy at SVT...maybe they'd be willing to pay big $$ for your tranny secret! laugh

I've been having problems with my 1st gear just recently. Last week it wouldn't go into first unless I jammed it in to gear or tried 3 or 4 times. At one point the damn thing came out of gear eek

I had the clutch replaced at 18,000 miles and currently have 20,600 miles on the car. It is a 98 E0 which I bought new with around 200 miles on the car.

It seems to have this problem when its cold and warm. Who knows what is causing it? The dealers around here can't seem to fix things with in a reasonable time frame.

Good Luck
Jason

I too have the same problem on my '99 SVT ever since i've had it...Have to slam it into first gear and takes a minute or two to get it into reverse...Feels like something is blocking it from going into gear. I've taken it to the dealership once for this problem and they just told me I needed a new clutch. Thats funny because i've been riding on the same clutch for 6 months since I had it in for that problem..

I can't believe I missed this topic until now... Yes, I have the same problem; I'm on my 2nd tranny too. Double clutching seems to help; but my car is a 98', not from the 30's. LEt me know if there is any thing I can do to help. laugh laugh
