When do you recommend changing the oil in your car.
I am currently using Mobil1

I do mine every 5000km's, but that is with conventional oil.

I change every 30000 Km or 3 months which ever comes first. I use mobile 1 also.

30,000KM  WOW must be good syn in there  I used syn in my old Contour and a good interval is about 7500km. Use the Ford filter, and 6L of oil. Should be fine.

I am starting to feel sick...I always changed my precious Mobil1 oil (and Ford Oil Filter) every 5000km  5000km is just a scam to bring you in more? Talking about scams...the guys at Oakridge Ford put on my sticker that I should go for my next oil change in October...I got my Oi, changed on September 23! Derek

Oops! should be 3000 Km not 30,000.

When I was still under warranty, I did mine every 5,000 now I do it about every 8,000. I didnt want to give the warranty people any opportunity to not cover my car.

Hey Laura,
All you need to prove for warranty purposes re:oil changing is prove regular intervals. Since most of your miles are Highway you could follow the NORMAL service schedule that allows up to 10,000km on regular oil. Since you run synthetic, you could extednd that to 15,000km safely. Up to you though.
I thought I might see you at the Georgian Auto College Car Show last weekend. It was amazing.

Your hearing so many different answers because of just that, Everyone has a different comfort level with how long they let their oil ride. Personally I stick to the 5000km or 3 months deal. In reality I could probaly get more since the oil still looks good @ 5000km but I don't wish to let it go longer than that.
