My guess is a bored 3L. A stroker is also a possibilty, but the cost of creating a new crank is high, unless, the machined down the main journals further from the centerline of the crank to create a longer stroke, but then that woiuld reduce the bearing diamter and would require really thick bearings toi fit in the stock conrods.

Hmm, considering the 3.0 block from SHO Shop is $2k, expect the 3.5L to be twice as much - $4k, thanks, but no thanks.
I'll stick w/ the 3.0.

yes, it'll be 4k, but THAT's MORE RELIABLE AND CHEAPER than a TURBO (given that it'll generate less heat), and it's NA, and a heck of a lot more torque and less heat than a s/c as well, so, that 4k goes a long, way, save for the 2k you'll spend on installing it. . .
and yeah, I'm with lance, they're probably borin' the hell out of the 3L. . .
AND, power wise, it should match up right with the turbo and s/c at the flywheel in terms of hp. . .

hold your horses. They tried this with the SHO and did the 3.6, granted it was bored and STROKED, so the 3.5 maybe more reliable, but i doubt it. Nope, they're not... and yes, they can. Stock spacing of 4.0157 inches center to center shown here. With a 3.504 inch bore, that leaves just over a half an inch between the two. The liners themselves are about an 1/8th of an inch FYI.

maybe a stupid question...but how much would it be to make our own 3.5L then (assuming you already have the block)

Well..it will be liner to liner at 3.5L I think.. Then, the 3L heads will be raising compression like 2.5 heads on a 3L. And will they put in custom 37mm valves?? Modified cam profiles..if they got 229FWHP with the 3L then about 267 FWHP (320 HP crank) with similarly prepped 3.5L..
