Interesting topic indeed. I read the stuff on the old boards, too. Like twowheelin' said, it's not going to be easy nor cheap. Here's my idea: What about putting a throttle body on each side of the UIM - meaning 1 near the front of the car, and 1 near the fire wall. Split the intake hose, link the two TBs together... That would provide a straight shot into each intake runner. Get it? Again...it'd mean a new UIM, but hey, this is the R&D part!

The problem is finding the correct size TB's, MAF, TPS' etc...and amking it all work together with the EEC system. It can be done but...$$$. Jag UIM....

2112, similarly, what about something that smooths the air down both sides of the intake manifold as the air first passes the throttle plate. I have always wondered if we had the room behind the throttle plate to build something like this in to help control and smooth the airflow to each bank:

Very interesting. If there is somehow to bore out the opening of the UIM to allow for a similar insert to split and channel the air to each side smoother and have the ability to allow the same volume of air in...
