Sorry for having a similar username as yours. I didn't realize it until it was too late.
As for the synthetic cocktail, that was the first thing I did when I experienced got the car. I did the same thing on my '95 Contour and it helped alot. But for this car, no difference. It seems that 1st gear can be selected with ease only when the car is still moving. If it is completely stopped, it will not engage. I've checked with my dealership, and it seems the clutch is not covered under the PremiumCare ESP. The ignition switch is covered. I'm scheduled to bring it in early next month.
On another note, I've noticed the tires on the car doesn't have a manufacturer's name on it but just the model name. Something called "HP-51". It is Z-rated and also is listed as M+S. Anyone knows who makes it and is this all-season?
