The mods should be easy to repair or replace should you want to. The problem with your tranny is a common one and will not be cheap to repair (replace tranny). If you have the extended warranty I would get it fixed right away. Many people have had this problem and have had several trannies replaced. I think there is an associated problem with the clutch that contributes to this problem. Ask "Terry Haines" in the Transmission Forum for help.
