Traded in my 1995 Contour GL,v-6, 5spd for a minor moded 1998 Silver SVT Contour at Heritage Ford less then a month ago. It has 80k and a PremiumCare ESP (good til 2003). What a totally different car! It handles like a go-kart and is alot quieter then the old car!
I have all the Ford service records that the previous owners (3 previous owners, including the ex-CEO of Ford of Canada) had done to the car. Unfortunately, I don't have the records for all the mods they'd done to the car. Here are some of the items the previous owner(s) had done to the car:
1) side markers
2) changed all the lights (interior/exterior) to blue neon bulbs.
2) cross-drilled rotors
3) Ractive Heat Shield Filter
Question is is it straight forward to replace/repair/clean the above items?
Also, there are several problems with the car. Keys can't be inserted or removed from the ignition switch.
And first/reverse gear cannot be engaged. Does anyone here have any of the same problems?
