[QB][/QUOTE] Here is my two cents. First, I have a 95 LX Duratec with 145,000 miles and it runs great. It will pull to 6500 rpm with no problem. I dont make that a habit but sometimes you have to move it. Anyway I am impressed with this motor as I have mostly owned GM's. I might add as tuff as small block Chevy's are they will scatter from abuse, lack of maintainence, and sloppy engine building. In fact the 396 cid was known for weak rod bolts that would send the rods thru the pan or block when redlined. Sorry for the rambling. Have your motor diagnosed. Was it a rod or was it a bearing or whatever. Let us know. You can find used engine at car-part.com. Good luck.
