Yes please, let's keep this about our cars, our favorite cars. The Contour/Mystique/Mondeo which in my estimation is one of the finest mid to low priced cars available. It's too bad America hasn't come up to the point that Europe has as far as the car buying habits are concerned because the Mondeo is a huge seller in Europe. It's fast, comfortable, handles well, efficient and very attractive. But then so was the Merkur and America stayed away from that car in droves. IMHO there is absolutely no comparison to the Pontiac 6000, none, zero, zilch. And frankly I'm wondering why there is so much time spent talking about a turd of a car. I sold hundreds of them in the early 80's and I used to cringe everytime an A body car buying customer would come back to the lot. Cause I KNEW that 75% of the time there was a giant problem and I was going to have to deal with an irate customer. I am disheartened by the demise of the Contour in the U.S. But when I see folks buying monstosities like the Avalanche and the Aztec (another Pontiac faux pas) I know we have a long way to go to understanding what a great car the Mondeo/Contour/Mystique is/was.

It's really sad how closed-minded you guys are. I used to like my car when I care here, I had alot of plans. I was going to change it from a cheap little 170hp Granny Cruiser to a nice, powerful, balanced, German performance sedan, and I'd like to let you all know, that you have ruined that for me. I come on here, and I get nothing but bashed. It's getting really old. No matter what, someone has to ruin someone else's post by bashing me, not only is that very immature, but it's rude. Not only to me, but to the person who first posted. Go ahead and bash me, I don't care. I know I'm better than any of you because I don't need to bash people to make me feel better. You can go ahead and say whatever you want about me, I don't care. But don't get mad at me for defending myself, yes, I live in Fargo, North Dakota, but atleast I don't live in Mobile, Alabama. If you think it's so funny that I live here, or that it's funny that I have a 1990 Pontiac S/E AWD, go ahead and laugh, because I'm proud of where I live and what I own, but it's you people that have made me LESS proud of the Mystique, and more proud of the 6000. I think it's terrible how you can get away with ruining that love and passion I had for my car, I'd like for you to know what it's like to be proud of something (such as a 1995 GL Zetec) and have everyone drag it through the dirt. Another thing, if you don't like how I defend myself, why does everyone make the most retarded posts (which are mostly about 6000s)? How would you like it if I found places that dragged the Contour through the dirt? Believe me, I know of MANY websites that do that. Just think about what you say before you say it, because you can't blame me for doing the same thing that you would do in the same situation.

Cool Blue, I don't give a damn what you think about everyone else or your Mystique. If I have to read you tossing insults again, I'm going to try to ban you myself (and there is a "Ban" link on my Mod page, I just don't know how exactly it works, 3L Forum only or the whole site).

Everyone else, I don't give a damn if you think Cool Blue is an idiot (even if it's obvious by reading a post). You don't have to point it out to me all the time. Next time I see a thread ruined because you feel the need to post repeatedly bashing Cool Blue, I'm going to try to ban you.

Im really not worried about it. As far as were i got it, I went to the junkyard and took it off a Escort Gt. Then superglued tomy wheel. I figure if it was on the escort with glue and it had an Airbag that i really dont have to worry.

But please don't exclude yourself. you say u don't need to bash on people to feel good about yourself, then please stop bashing on the south (personally it's a great place compared to a frigid state in the middle of nowhere). you have insulted as many people as have insulted you. you have insulted everyone on this site by badmouthing contiques and other fords. most people are immature and insult you. i do this too but since i'm not much older than you (less than a year?), i don't care that i'm doing it. i do care that it ruins post and i'm sorry for that.... if i were you i would apologize to everyone on the site, stop bashing fords and southerners and start all over. this is if i were you though, but i'm just a "dumb southerner" so i reckon i dun't no nuthin'. one more thing, stop "trying" to be nice and just do it, start by not insulting anyone or their cars. it seems to me that the ford emblem would go with the rest of steering wheel that's over the air bag and flip up or down... as long as it's stuck on good

PA, I do appreciate your comments, they are spot on in my book, everyone needs to just take a chill pill and relax. You guys who can't seem to resist bashing Cool Blue in every freakin thread he posts in really need to find a better hobby. He was right about something, for you guys to hijack a thread by senslessly bashing him and his 6000 is completely rude to the person who posted the thread in the first place. In this case I was just looking for some insight on whether or not it was possible to swap the wheel from and escape into a Tour, and in 4 pages of posts I bet there arn't more than a half dozen replaies actually dealing with subject. whatever moderator looks at this, please delete the post as obviously no knowledge has been gained from it other than just how rude and immature some of the people on this site can be. In adition, if you see this Lance, perhaps there needs to be some more covering of bashing fellow members repeatedly.
