LMAO I'd have to agree.
Back on topic, I too would like to know if swapping to an escape wheel is possible... Would be an interesting project to try. Maybe have to replace the whole column too... nm, scratch that, the escape has the gear selector on the column...

Not sure about the Escape, but the Cougar's would fit I think, I was looking at one and they have the same steering column as ours. Great! Now I can get one oh, and if you need to replace the WHOLE steering solumn, and get one from an Escape, make sure you get a culumn for an MTX Escape, ATX has the granny-mobile-column-shift

Did you have to cut the original leather before you put that skin on? I need to replace the leather on mine, it's all worn out.

I see another area where Ford cheapened up these cars. On my 1995, the WHOLE wheel is leather, including the spokes, on the newer ones, the spokes are textured plastic, and only the rim is leather...just a little observation

No, that's not the Escape wheel. Escale wheels have weird-shaped horn pads, and squooshy cruise buttons (I've test driven a few...not bad for Ford, and ESPECIALLY not bad for a small SUV, looks like a Range Rover if you look close enough)

Little bro, this is a Contour/Mystique board. Any car other than a Ford Tour, or A Merc Mystique is going to get slammed. Relax dude. My suggestion is to give up trying to talk everyone into how cool your 13 year old Pontiac 6000 (aka Chev Celebrity) is. If that was such a great car GM would still be making it, and they're not. People stopped buying them for a reason. You like it, cool. But don't EXPECT anyone here to jump in with you. Ford guys are usually very loyal to our brand name, so ANY car other than a Ford will get torn up. Go to the Pontiac 6000 board to engage in rousing conversation about your wonderful AWD car, cause most of us here could care less about your 'other' car. Let's talk about your Tique. Ken
