If you can raise the car the vaccum line is underneath at the bottom of the firewall (towards the rear (of the firewall a few inches) center & just behind sway bar look up) and close to the heater hoses. This where the heater core connections are. I have a 98 2.5 I'll have to look for the reservoir myself, it's so cramped under the hood who knows where it maybe hiding.

I check and let you know.
OK after one mini-floor jack and two jack stands the black plastic line plugs into a rubber connection, the plastic line is now gray and on my V-6 appears on top in the area of the idle air valve and the electric vaccum switch for the Egr. There are multiple tees so one goes to the Egr switch, another to the fuel pressure regulator and the other goes to the canister purge switch (I didn't trace that). So it's possible to have other troubles weird troubles if the HVAC controls are not working. Evidentlly defost must be a deflaut with no vaccum. I have to try that, Ah I couldn't wait. I disconnected the line (gray only) Yes after 12 or 15 mode changes ( must be a reservoir in the dash area) DEF is the deflaut. I imagine the 2.0l in similiar?
Well at least I know, hopefully it won't fail????Hi Hi
