This one's a winner, in my book. This fits with everything I keep saying about what rice is or isn't.

Look at the tacked on bits. The rear spoiler on the hood. The front air dam that looks like it was spray-painted. The pasted-on...what are those, intake ducts on the hood? The partial snake graphic. The goofy "mustangs" on the side. On and on with the tacky add-ons.....That's rice, my friends.

This car, however, is not rice by any means.

It's called a custom, and they've been around for decades. Does it look fast? Is it fast? Who cares? Not every appearance mod is a "rice" mod.

Most of the cars on page 5 aren't rice, either. "All show and no go" does not make a car rice. The wings are decorative. Get over it.

Yes, yes, I'd rather have the go, and I'm not into the show scene, and I don't like everything about every car on page 5. I think they'd look better without the wings, and I think the hood on that blue one is over the top. But otherwise, they look very clean, and well crafted. The interiors remind me of some old custom Chevys. Not my style, but I understand the roots of it. Since when did this become a Contour Performance Enthusiast Group (CPEG)? Enthusiasm takes many forms, people. Take off your blinders and widen your view.

Compare those cars to that last silver Mustang, and tell me they're in the same league.

Ummm. Well, yes, I think it is, now that I look at it.

But this isn't...

Nor is this...

or this.

This guy might be pushing the envelope a bit,

But this guy's black hood, rear wing, and hood tie-downs look vaguely familiar.
