I have experienced first hand what happens when O2 contacts an oily rag. Instant giant fire. It lights all by itself, if there is enough oxygen present is ignites spontaneously. Not a yellow smokey fire, but a brilliant white/blue fire like an oxy/acetelyne torch.

Heck, there have been rocket engines built that use solely LOX (liquid oxygen) and kerosene. In fact, I believe that one or some of the U.S. space program rockes use/used this as a fuel with great success.

How about putting a big metal block in engine bay--put the battery in the trunk--this would absorb a substantial amount of heat--designed like a heatsink in a computer

Are there any race related Heat Transfer applications that would work? I know JETHOT keeps things cooler but are there other things? I know this is still a lil off topic but I don't feel like making a new post.

I could be wrong but i have read someplace that it is possible to get the intake air too cold and the car wont run right, anyone heard of this? I also have heard about a product called "Purple Ice" or something like that that you add to your radiator that is supposed to drop the temp like 10 deg. I havent seen it sold anyplace, but not really looking either never had a problem with it overheating.

Hydro-lock! Water-injection might be a good idea though.

But there are no racing strips there.... How about you make a really long pipe to the arctic that'll scoop air into your engine. You could also hire a monkey to sit on your engine, and fan it all day
