The early SVTs (the ones that were rated 195 crank hp by Ford) only had the primary head ports EH'ed, along with only one pass on the UIM. The extra EH processing was one of the things that Ford claimed gave the 5 hp bump. I forget if that was E1 or 99 when the extra power was advertised.

Dan,
we are talking cylinder head ports here not LIM or UIM...the other 2000 SVT Engine(build date 11/4/00) also only has ONE intake port onthe HEAD e/honed, the other is like a bears ass!....

I think the 0.25 increase in CR goes along way for that extra HP on late SVT's

Terry, I AM talking about the ports in head (I was confusing as I also mentioned the manifolds). I spent about 5 hours cleaning all the gunk out of the head ports down to the valves with the butterflies propped open. ALL head intake ports are smooth as baby's ass, not a bears 100% sure, no question..at least on this 99..

What the literature said is..
98 heads...secondary (not primary), UIM single Honing
99-00 heads....primary and secondary; UIM dual pass Honing
But, I have only looked at mine. I think Demon SVT can confirm his 00 is has all head ports Honed..

The 5 hp increase (to 200) was quoted for 99 IIRC, before the CR was upped to 10.25:1 for 2000. I was always kind of surprised that the 2000MY SVT wasn't advertised at even more hp with the increase in compression. Or was it?

You are not from around here? Route 1 is fairly easy to get to from your place. Take a left on hayfield road, then take a left on telegraph rd, you will come to a fork in the road stay to the right. You will be on S. Kings highway, stay on that until you see Memorial Ave. Take a right there, go down about 1 mile you will see a shopping center , the outback is in the front of the shopping center, stop in and have a beer. I have a few friends around here with csvts if you ever want to get together.
