As far as I know, you can still run your car without an operational O2 sensor. As mentioned above, it will probably have bad gas mileage and some driveability problems, but it should still run.

I apparently need mine replaced and they supposedly have little heaters in them which makes oem 02's a whopping $250 a peice (in canada).

You should be able to find OEM O2s for a lot less online.

As was mentioned above, I have never heard of having to replace O2 sensors in pairs. You might want to do it for preventative maintenance, but I don't see why you would have to.

It could be anything. Suggest that you get the code read and then post it on the forums here for help.

Don't think that's an O2 sensor, sounds more like IAC/EGR problems. Get the code.

3 of my 4 o2 sensors went bad so I replaced all 4 at one time.. I looked and looked at all the different parts stores and got alot of running around and wasted time. so I checked the Ford Dealer. they wanted $130 a piece for them(U.S.) so I talked to a friend and his father worked at a ford dealer and got them for me for 70 bucks a pop... anyway just call a dealer in the US and have them shipped.. gotta be cheaper than 230plus! oh yeah if you are planning on changing the sensors yourself invest in an o2 Sensor Socket. its a deep dish socket with a slot all the way up the side for the wire to go. I got one at Advanced Auto Parts. It costs like 8 bucks but well worth it when it came to putting them in the tight spots! Good Luck!
