People relocate batteries to help balance the car beter. It also has the benefit of clearing up more space as in this case. I would use a gel(?) cel battery like an Optima. they are sealed and can not leak. Optima says they can be mounted in any position, even upside-down. Their website is www.optimabatteries.com. Check it out. This is the ideal battery to mount in the trunk. I really want to do this when the money tree in the back yard blooms again. It takes forever though.
