Less weight is good. Less weight=Faster Acceleration.
Moving weight from front to rear wont increase acceleration, but will affect handling, good or bad.
The Battery is sprung weight. Unsprung weight is wheels, tires, brakes, knuckles, bearings, about half of the drive shaft, bottom half of struts. The parts that turn (wheels, tires, brakes in particular also rotate, reducing rotating mass helps.
Battery is not unsprung and doesn't rotate. Moving it to the rear will affect handling (good or bad depends on how you prefer the car to handle). Since the Battery cable is a pound or two heavier, the mass of the car is greater and will so the car down (a little, a very little).
