Well I finally tried autocrossing with a local club here in Appleton WI. All I can say is that it was awesome! I was in the GS class against about 9-12 other cars. Some that I can remember were: Talon AWD turbo, VW Corrado, VW 1.8T GTI, Subie WRX, an Alfa, and some others. Well needless to say I actually got first place! I wasn't expecting that at all, especially going up against more experienced autocrossers. I am definately doing it again, it is such a rush when you are done with a run. Then you are watching the board hoping that nobody will beat your time. I found a new hobby!

Maybe they did that because there weren't enough people in their class? What is the difference between them? I figured that I would get schooled by both of them, but I guess not. Also what kind of helmet would anybody suggest for autocrossing, drag racing, etc.
Thanks!!

Around here, SNELL 95 is the standard. Personally I like the helmets with the face shield.

If a class is too small, it usually results in a bump up, so the WRX should have gone to CS.. But hey who cares you beat them.. good job and enjoy the hobby its addicting..

Are you planning on keeping the SVT now, or are you still looking to sell it?

I am still going to sell it, but I never was in any real hurry to. If I have to keep it, I will because I love the car. However, I am not saving any money having 2 cars, insurance, upkeep, storage, etc. It also doesn't help me in saving up for a house. I am looking to pay off some bills after I sell it by driving my other car for a while (until I get sick of that again). Then I am going to look for a nice vehicle that I can drive all year round. I know I will regret it, but I have to set my priorities right now. If you know anyone interested in it have them drop me a line. I owe right around 14 on it, and all I am looking for is to break even on my bank loan even though I have put a quite a bit into it.
