I remember reading a while back that many SVTs were equipped with TC but the button was never installed(all wiring and system were in place). Along with that people said that it was there but the tables used to run the system were not calibrated or empty. What is the verdict on this... has anyone successfully attempted to activate the system. What years would this hold true... any information and comments please!

I was actually wondering the same thing, as I was pulling apart my dash the other day, and I noticed the TC wiring was in place behind the dummy switch. I don't know if it's connected to anything at the other end, but it's there!

Yup, so far I have the only known Contour SVT that has functioning traction control. To tell you the truth, I disable it almost every time I start the car. Usually, it's those times that I forget, that I don't turn it off.

What did you have to do to Enable it Chris? Do you have a how-to written up anywhere? I'm thinking it might be nice for winter driving.

I love my TCS, it works great. Especially when you're turning from a gravel road onto a highway where there's a little gravel on the road.

Mike, it wasn't that it had to be enabled, it was already factory equipped and functioning. The switch is there to disable or enable it.
