dude i am having the same exact problem with my 2000 se sport. i've already been to the ford garage and they hooked it up to a computer and could not find anything wrong. did anyones engine light come on? to all of the people who created this web site thanks a bunch! you guys have answered a lot of questions that the guys at ford don't seem to know!
