Another thing it does is keep high speed air from entering & pocketing in the engine bay, thus lifting weight off the front end. That would be a very important feature for safeties sake!

It also helps decrease drag.



You may be right, but Ford disagrees with you. They decontented it.!

Since my SE is limited to 112 MPH, and I don't often have the opportunity to drive that fast, the lift problem doesn't seem to be a problem for me. Since I get 32MPG Highway, drag doesn't seem to affect me either. I know anecdotal evidence doesn't prove anything, but still, I haven't noticed any detriment to not having it.
