As the title says, the cocktail didn't make any difference although I have only driven a few miles so far on it.

IIRC, a non-improvement after the cocktail indicates synchro issues but IIRC again, synchro issues get worse and worse over time whereas my notchy shifter has been with me since I bought the car 35k miles ago.

Thoughts ????

perhaps your problem lies in a problem with the rigging of the shift linkage and not in the transmission.

The tranny cocktail is most notable in cold (below freezing) weather. Otherwise, the synchros etc are likely damaged, or the linkage is out of adjustment (less likely).
