Same here. Then I did the engine repair that ended up raising the compression, and it went to like 12.7 seconds. The CTA intake got it down to maybe 12.2...

I think I need a custom chip that understands the compression. Or if that's not it, maybe I need a replacement head.

Counting in my head I pulled an even 10, but because my car is so "whiplash" fast, I probably got thrown off. JK, but in my head I do a 0-60 in 10 ish

My car DEFINITELY doesn't take 11 seconds to get to 60.

i did a fast counting 12 in head the other day... then realized i launched wrong and did no manual shifting of atx... and my air filter is clogged up and heatsoaky

My car is running the stock tire size so the speedometer should be fairly accurate. I did not power brake or anything, just slipped off the brake on to the gas and started the watch. Pressed it as soon as I hit 60mph...looked down and was like UGH! But it is plenty fast for the shitty traffic I've been driving in as of late...

What's up with the slow 0-60s? Do you guys have ATs or something?

My 1999 Zetec MTX gives me 0-60s in the 8.5 to 9.5 second range. It's stock too, except that I have the V6s 195/65-14 tires on my 14" factory wheels. Besides the different tires, which were for autocrossing, it's just like it was when I bought it.

I do take the shifts right up to the RPM limit though. I hold 1st until about 33 mph, and 2nd until about 57 mph. Since I'm tachless, I have no idea what the RPMs are, but it's got to be in the redline. That's the way I drive on a daily basis too, so my engine is most likely used to me pushing the he11 out of it by now!

Alright class, your assignment is to go out there and drive those Zetec Contours like you mean it! Don't worry about the engine, it's repairable - take it to the limit.
