When I was at Home Depot the kid running the upright saw had to ask me how to use it

I had him make one cut, then I decided that I wasn't going to confuse him any more by giving him actual dimensions.

It helps to make precision cuts if you have a good table saw with a fence or a radial arm saw. Other useful items are large wood clamps and a router and bits to round the cormers and to recess the speakers. Hole saws are also useful. Learning how to work with adhesives and how to cover boxes with acoustic carpet is another useful skill.

I build all my own boxes for car, home and for friends...

Building your own enclosures, is a simple thing but makes a huge difference in sqz, Only tools you need is wood, 3/4 inch mdf or particle board, liquid nails, 2" wood screws, Circular saw, pipe clamps, screw gun, and a jig saw to cut the hole for your speaker to fit into. Also by building your own enclosure you can make the box to the manufacturers recommended settings, IE..Theil small parameters. Also since no company that I have found makes kick panel enclosures for our cars, I will be fabricating my own fiberglass ones here within the next 1.5 weeks, plan to cover with pumice colored carpet to match my interior, and then my stereo will be complete.

Anyway peace out

You could go the particle board or MDF way, but i prefer plywood. IMO, stronger, and also the fact that it's lighter. Problem is that it's a little more pricey

To get a bit more specific, marine grade plywood and baltic birch are the types of plywood that are suitable for subwoofer construction.
