Nothing too exciting here...but I just changed the fuel filter. First off, you don't need to depressurize the system. Second, after you install the new filter, turn the ignition key all the way foward to the position just short of starting the car, wait a few seconds then turn it back. You can hear a noise like a pump running. Repeat this a few times which helps to prime the new filter. After 5 or six times, start the car and she will run fine!

You don't have to, but it does help to reduce the amount of gas that shoots out.

Even without the depressurization, not alot of gas shot out.

You should feel lucky. smile
I depressurized mine from the front and back and still had quite a bit of pressurized fuel squirt out.

Maybe cause I let the car sit a few days before I did it there was less pressure. I tell you this, it did help alot on performance. No more flat spot on acceleration and I just beat a late model BMW 328 with a freakin' Mercury Mystique!
