Yes of course it has a rear dome light. Silly Mystique.

Ahhh the irony of Ford, my contour came with a trunk light but no rear dome so I added the rear dome off the mystiques...mean while your mystique came with a rear dome light but no trunk light and now you're trying to add a trunk light off a contour. Quality is Job #1!

Just shows Ford and Mercury's priorities I guess.

Allow me to go ahead and end this stupid debate. Whilst doing that, I would like to ask if all '98-'00 (or '95-'00, possibly) contours had only a pair of lights for the passenger's visor rather than for both driver and passenger.

My 95 Contour GL has lights on both visors. My 95 Mystique GS has no lights on either visor.

Maybe the Ford Motor Company's intention was to "mix things up" a bit. You know, as another year passes, and something needs to be changed on the newer model, the lighting pattern is the way to go . A lit face for him, darkness for her in the other seat. Perhaps a light for that corpse in the trunk...perhaps not. It all depends. Maximum profit is the bottom line for Ford. Bulbs and wiring take $$$.
