Johnny V, no offense, but that is the single most stupid thing I've ever read.
In reply to:

If you do it responsibly, it is safe. The only risk is pedestrians and merging cars, in which case you should not be racing on a street during a time of day that poses risks like
that.

I'd call those risks big enough for me!
At what time is it safe to street race? Personally, I'll walk down the sidewalk any damn time I want. There are no set hours for pedestrians to be around, let alone people merging onto other streets.
There is absolutely no way to justify street racing.
In reply to:

Im sick of society treating auto enthusiasts like we are criminals because of a few idiots. Be smart and
lets stop giving the media reasons to exploit what brings us together in the first place.

I don't street race. Does that mean I'm not an auto enthusiast?
A true enthusiast wouldn't do that to a 'Vette.

I almost wrote that I hope he dies, but that's too mean, and besides, enough people die doing this stupid stuff. It wouldn't get the message out any louder.

Hypothetically, if you were being very very responsible while street racing, yet a large dog darted out into your way, would it be my fault if you veered off the road and hit me? After all, you are being responsible!

I want to clarify that im not condoning others to do it, I am merely stating my opinion. Call me stupid, I dont really care. I respect the CEG philosophy to condemn such activities.

I am pointing out, however, that everyone tries to be politically correct these days. PLEASE - youre going to tell me that if you owned a 'Vette that you wouldn't USE IT? People seem to forget why they spend money on their cars - its to enjoy them!! The capabilities of such vehicles far exceed the standards normal cars must adhere to. In my last vehicle, I could stop from 60mph faster and safer than the average car can at 35mph.

If you are responsible, you should know what your car is capable of and more importantly, your own limits. You pose just as much risk as a street racer. Whether youre sipping your coffee and dont see the red light ahead or you simply dont know what to do if the car fishtails on you in the rain, you are still a risk when getting behind the wheel no matter what.

Now that would be a sight to see! Well, a sad sight, but nonetheless
