has anyone tried to pull off their hvac knobs? i was thinking of painting them to match the rest of my dash but i cant get the fan knob off. any ideas? i dont wanna break it. along those same lines i was tryin to pull off my headlight knob...same prob. my car is the 98 se sport. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

take some pliers, and some napkins, or a towel or something along those sorts so you dont scratch the knob...grab it and pull real hard.....it attaches differently from the other two knobs but it will come, just got to show it some tough love! good luck.

I just pull on mine with my hand and they come off pretty easy, scarily easy actually! tricked is right though, the headlight and fan switch are designed differently(good job ford! )and are a little harder to get off.

If you haven't pulled and broken the headlight switch off yet, get a small paperclip, look underneath the headlight knob, and on the knob you will see a little hole. Straighten the paperclip out, stick it in the hole and depress the clip that's holding the knob on the switch.

Whew! Run-on sentences rock!
