as far as a good 3L conversion how-to, on fordcontour.org there is one, that I find useful. Otherwise, Jason, I think I may actually be getting ready to get the ball rolling on mine, this weekedn I go home and locate all of my stuff, and start getting things together, along with hopefully finishing my front bumper. Airknight, I def. want that when your done, if it gets there soon, or whatever you have so far if any..

I have something up on my webpage (see sig). Probably nothing you don't know already though.

The OBD-II system is nothing more than government regulations to standardize how PCM's are interpreted. In 1996, it made it manditory to have standard DTC connectors, two oxygen sensors, etc. Ford went to the EEC-V later, but I'm not sure when.

The electric IMRC, is it completely electric, or is it electric solenoid controlled vacuum?

I know on my 95, that it is completely vacuum controlled by ported vacuum and diaphram. I don't really see the benefit in changing it.

Don't. You should not need to change the IMRC setup or the EEC setup either. The 95 EEC-IV works fine, and should be able to work with a 3.0 with just basic piggyback ECU tuners or a well done 3.0 specific chip (hey, we can dream!)

You will need to use the 95 lower intake manifold which allows you to retain the vacuume setup and which can then have the ports opened up SVT or larger spec.

I belive you also have to change the passenger side motor mount to the later "round" style verses the stock "square" mount. Micah here on CEG mentioned something about this from his pre-98 swap.

It can be done - as others mentioned it's in the works. I'm still planning and saving right now.

I'm not using my '95 LIM. But I'm going to use the linkage so it fits the vaccum IMRC.

How are you going to make it work? I've looked at both and it's not super simple. Also are you using the stock fuel rail or something else?

I know Ray Mcnairy (RIP ) had just about worked out adding an SVT LIM to his 95 and he mentioned that it required some welding and fabricating in regards to the linkage.

I'm going to look at it more carefully after I'm done working on the SVT heads. But I have the SVT LIM all apart right now, it seems that the shafts and linkage come out as an assy. So, I can probably take the shafts and linkage on the '95 unit and put it on the other one.

There shouldn't be any welding or fabricatring LIMs. Its just the matter of staying with SVT or non for the entire intake system that your going to use. Its just not worth the price of trying to convert one over to the other. Why go thru the hassle of trying to bore out, change butterflies, and reassemble?
