Not sure about Mondeos, but most of our electric windows also have a window lock on the driver's side so no one but the driver can roll down/up windows.
I know what you mean about driving, it is hard enough when you do not know the roads and the signs/lights are all different, but then to also switch driving sides! I do not know how big the Eastern import scene is over there, but at least if you go to Japan it will be a little easier.
