Any one w/underbody's interested in making them come on when you unlock your door and any other time the footwell lights would be on, here are instructions.
Parts/tools required: 1. (2) 3m wire splicers 2. Wire crimper/ cutter 3. (4 or 5) Female blade plugs 4. A 4 prong 12V relay (don't rip the diagram on the back of the box) 5. Fuse blade taps 6. Some wire about 16gage
Instructions: 1. Splice a wire into the wire that goes out to your underbody's and make long enough to get to where you want to mount your relay. 2. I mounted my relay under the knee bolster (the thing under the steering column) driver's side so to make it easy you should too. That being said twist and pop out your peanut bulb and assembly so you can see the two wires (be carefull it's hot) 3. Tap another wire into the black one of the two wires that goes to the bulb. You may have to shave the insulation off this wire a little beacuse it is too thin for the blue size splicers to cut through it. 4. Select your source of constant power, the fuse box is great due to the location of the relay. Then put the fuse tap in your fuse if you choose to use that and put a female connector on a wire and puse it over the fuse blade. I used the cigarette lighter fuse, worked great. 5. Strip and put female blades on all the wire ends that go to the relay. I know that's only three wires that where this important fact comes in. I used the same power source to power the relay and the underbodys, 3rd and 4th blade on the relay. Before you put the female on the end of the power going to the relay cut 3" wire and strip both ends and twist one end with the end of the power wire then put the female blade on so you have two wires coming out. 6. Now put a female blade on the other end of the 3" wire, now you should have 4 female blades ready to be hooked up. 7. Get out your relay diagram that's usually on the back of the relay box and plug as follows: The wire coming from the peanut bulb wire goes to ground, the wire that is spliced into the underbody power wire goes to the acc. out prong, and the other two go on the last two in either order. Put everything back together and test it. Any questions PM me. Do this only if you think you know what your doing it may get complicated!
