As I think was mentioned earlier, using the fans with the engine off does nothing but cool the water in the radiator. If you want to actually cool the engine, you need an electric water pump, and a manual switch to run the fans.

In answer ot the guy who claims you will get 24V at the fan, I got some news for ou, things just dont work that way What COULD happen is that you fry your ECU, though that is unlikely. There are ways to protect against this, however.

As far as why, I would like th fans to come on a little sooner, especially sitting in SOCAL traffic for hours, with the engine idling and getting hot so fast, Heat soak is a real issue here, and I would like to be able to hit the fans when I want, not just when it starts to get hot
