That's who I got mine from. He told me that they had been "redesigned". To get the two studs out, just hit down on the concrete a couple times and they will pop out. Not hard at all to get them out.

Not fair! Not Fair! I bought mine not to long ago and I didn't get any cool shiny, lighter aluminum mount, mines just black, iron and heavy as fook. I actually drilled out the holes in the subframe rather than try to drill out the cast iron tranny mount.

Hey Simon,
I had the same problem. Like was suggested above, I knocked out the studs, and made the holes on the mount into "slots" that go to the end of the tips on the mount. It took 5 minutes, and works like a charm. There is more than enough material on the edges of the slot to keep everthing together.

Hey Simon,
I installed an SVT mount on my old SE V6 (1995). All you have to do is shave the insides of each mounting hole so that each bolt can go through the hole. As far as I could tell there wasn't any stiffness given up by doing this. All you need is a good drill and a big drill bit. Email me at rknauber@yahoo.com if you need more assistance.

I bought the front and rear (I also bought the damn ES insert for the front!) and just tried fitting it on but the bolts on it are closer together then my stock one so it won't fit in the holes on the subframe!!!! mad
I have NEVER seen any sort of "warning" or statement stating that they only fit 98+ tours! Have you?? Everything I have seen states 95-00 like here at spmotorsports

Has anyone used the SVT FRONT mount on a pre-98??
To say I'm perplexed is an understatment! mad confused

*EDIT* I took a quick pic of it to show what I mean. SEE!

You MUST drill those two holes bigger. That's the only way to fit it. I was lucky, the shop that rebuilt my tranny did it for me for free. When I ordered mine from SPMotorsports, they told me the subframe MUST be modified to fit.

Well, it seems to be kinda obvious that "something" needs to be mondified in order for it to fit. But what iretates that crap out of me is that NO ONE tells you this! If so many people know baout it BUT the people selling them, the obviously seems to be a miss communication somewhere. They should at least put a "notcie" on the website regarding ANY modifications needed in order for something to fit correclty! Just my cents anyway. Thanks for everyones reply.
