OK. I, like many, am looking to replace a set of worn-out, rough-ass KDWs on my '99 SVT with stock rims. I've done my search, read everything everyone's saying, taken a look through Tirerack, etc, etc, etc. There are a lot of people who are preaching the Yoko A520/Kumho Ecsta/Sumitomo HTR/etc performance level and price range, and then some going on about the Bridgestone S-03 and the Firestone SZ50 EPs, which according to tirerack.com surveys are a bit higher performance and certainly a higher price point, and very highly recommended (about equal marks) for their handling, wear, comfort, etc. I drive hard, but don't get on track much, and have no interest in dragging. I know you get what you pay for, but am I going to be able to use the grip offered by the higher-end tires, or would the others suffice for the street (and cloverleaf)? I don't want to downgrade. I do love the stickiness of the KDWs, and they seem to compete with the Stones. Does anyone actually *have* a set of them, or something comparable, to tell me about? The more opinions, the merrier.

thanks...

Kristuphir

'99 SVT Black and stockish - except for the tow hitch, but pretend not to notice it. "I'm just gonna go find a cash machine..."
