Just bought an E0 with 75K miles. Replaced the plugs (dbl plat autolites), wires (Magnecor), brakes pads and rotors, and installed a drop-in K&N cone filter. I have noticed that when I floor the gas pedal the engine responds fairly well but after a second or so it feels like a second gas pedal has been pushed and the car opens up. Why? Is this something I can correct? How?

Yep it's your secondaries opening up. The car is a 24V DOHC. Below 3900 RPM (normal acceleration) the secondaries remain closed to give more torque. Above this they open to give more air flow and power. Under wide open throttle situations (WOT) the secondaries open at 3400 RPM. Have fun with your new toy!

Thanks for the information. Seems the transition should be smoother though. I'm considering taking the intake apart and cleaning using the how-to article. The car has never had that done.
