holy crap,
dude, They are refunding or replacing your headers, right? I mean, DAMN, ceramic coating looks like it didn't even exist! Makes me wonder about the GB going on. . .are you replacing them with higher quality stainless steel ones?

Sorry dude, totally sucks. Not to sound like an optimist, but were the performance gains enough to justify the AGONY?

that's exactly what chris hightower was trying to tell people in the group buy...but nobody wanted to listen to him,and said he was slamming them to make his own product look good...looks like he may have been right all along...

Supposedly they changed their ceramic coating process since summer '01 so I'll let you know how the new ones are...

Did you go to Cecil today Pete?

Yes, but he/they IIRC were talking about the first run or what not. From what I've heard, and what MSDS is saying they have changed coaters and had alot better results...

My ypipe looked exactly like yours in less than a year after install.. Sent it back to Marty at MSDS, he sent it back with a way better coating.. This stuff looks like it should hold up greatly! Im gonna send back the headers once I start my engine swap project.. Or if he wont take them, ship them to Jet Hot and have them coated.

that ceramic coating process has changed since the first batch. what is being displayed here in the thread is a typical result of the first method of coating......

hopefully - again, HOPEFULLY - this new ceramic coating lives up to what people are raving about.....a lot better than the first.

later.

I think the new coating looks very good and has held up to my few months of abuse so far.

This winter will be the big test. Even though we don't get a lot of snow here. They also don't plow here. Just throw down a good 2" of salt. No. I'm really not kidding!

Going to call MSDS this week.

Replaced with those pictured on left (SHMs).

Not worth the agony.

Does HPP have headers, or are you talking about the exhaust manifold that comes with the turbo?
