I mentioned the rev limiter because they're saying high rev's blew up my engine. Prior to that, I explained how it was right next to impossible that I missed 4th and/or 5th gear. Nobody was in the car with me, and the Ford mechanic had no spoke with me himself until today. He wasn't told anything about the car, just that he had to look at it. He guessed the engine blew due to high revs, I told him what happened. He said he wasn't sure anymore and he would have to take apart the engine to find out. I apreciate your input but please get the whole story before you start picking it apart.

Ryan, Ryan, Ryan,

I was mereley stating that there is more than one way to over-rev the car. You already assured me in the Pics and Vids section that you didn't mis-shift and I believe you.

I was not commenting on your situation per se, but over-revving in general. I've read some horror stories on the CEG about mis-shifts, and just thought I would clarify why your fuel cut-off comment might not be the last word on the mechanic's over-rev hypothesis.

Best regards....

Alright, I'm not sure who knows what anymore about this. I just assumed you were another one of the guys who read one post so he's got the answers to the worlds problems. Sorry.

One word: Waterpump.

Ford OEM waterpumps are known to fail and cause engine damage. I was driving at a high rate of speed when the Ford OEM waterpump failed. I would suggest that you look there. If the temperature of the engine got hot enough, the engine could blow.

I see some possible evidence of Ford's cost cutting techniques.

PS If AAA offers you just $2500, negotiate with them to $5000.

The factory water pump isn't in my car. That went a few months back and Spatt and I replaced it the next day.

It just depends on what blew the motor. If a stone ripped through my oil pan causing all the oil to drain out and the engine to blow up, it would be covered 100%. If it blew up because it was being rev'ed too high or any reason that would have more to do with the way I was driving or a mechanical issue.....its not their responsibility.

I would offer you my 98 Red Contour SE w/o leather for $4k and you could swap out your leather interior, buy the GB 98+ Body kit for $650, Bnoon 3.0L engine swap for $950 and have a better SVT for $5600.

I know, not what you wanted to hear.

You might. But I wasn't there yesterday so I'm not really sure who you're looking at.
