BAER's SVT Focus kit

I just emailed them to see if that rear kit will fit the SVT Contour as well....I hope.

I have a rear brake kit from Baer on my car as well, they just sell the rotors to match the front ones. Check it out at Suneil Baer's it All

cut and past with this if that doesn't work.

http://home.swbell.net/ssmumich/my_car.html

It's $125 per rotor for cross-drilled/zinc washed/slotted.

The rear brakes on this Focus appear to still use the stock caliper. The same applies for the "rear brake kit" for the Contour, just upgraded rotors.

They won't touch the rear because they would have to find someway to work the E-brake into the caliper!

I have the front "Track" kit as well, but the rear is not just a rotor upgrade.

Here's the quote from the website...

"The rear TOURING System features 12" x .810" rotors with aluminum PBR single piston calipers with an integral park brake. Rear System includes:
•12" x .810" directionally curved vane rotors,
•PBR single piston aluminum calipers featuring an integral park brake mechanism and high metallic pads. 6061-t6, billet aluminum hubs
•6061-T6 billet aluminum brackets and fastening hardware
•TeflonĀ® linedStainless steel braided brake hoses
•Vehicle specific park brake cables

**This system will work on rear drum-equipped vehicles only**

The rear "TOURING" system with plain rotors retails for $995"

It doesn't matter, I just got the email back stating that it won't work.

Huh, well, I'll be damned, they're putting PBR single pistons on the rear?!? Well, if that's the case, then, i guess my system falls short, because all they offered were the matching rear rotors. Now, I don't know what one would wanna spend nearly $1000 for calipers+rotors when you could spend $250 to make it aesthetically pleasing; the brake bias in our car is like 95% front or something, so the rears are pretty much hardly used.

eh, would be cool to get matching calpiers, though, since the ones I have really don't match, but whatever, right?

Ok question for the brake guru's? I have a 1998 SE Sport with only disk's in the front.. I want to upgrade my front brakes with caliper's and rotors.. It's not really for competition more than aesthetics.. What kit would everyone recommend me to get ? And what is the prices on the kits you all recommend ???

TCE's 13" Wilwood kit! Runs about $1000.

It really comes down to how much do you want to spend?

You see the option for $1000 above. Probably for 1/4 of that, you can get the late Cougar/SVT caliper brackets and two new, larger Cougar/SVT rotors, even with slots or holes or perhaps both.

Or you can pay some more $$$ and go with the Baer system.

Larger rotors may require larger wheels and tires, depending on what you already have, so you might need to figure that into a 13" kit upgrade as well.

FWIW,

TB

Nothing will get more (good)comments than a big brake kit.
Take my word for it.

Here are a few new pics
