Thanks for the info PA. I think I may stop by radio shack today and start this project. Does anyone know if running an MIL eliminator will have long term affects on the car. It is a 99 SE V6 with stock exhaust and air filter? Will it affect the emmissions test at the inspection line at all?

By the way, came across this in my search. MIL for 29.95 a pair. It says they work on 96 to current Contours:

http://www.mileliminators.com/

If anything, it has some good instructions and some cool new products.

Thanks again for the instructions.

$30 is actually a deal. I have seen them as and it says in the construction manual, they sell for $70.

Actually, just got this info back that might be helpful to some:

"Our MIL Eliminators are for 1996+ Fords, and their main goal is to prevent
the low-cat efficiency codes, P0420 and P0430. With that said, our product
will work for your vehicle.

No long term effects. They merely fool the computer into thinking the cats
are there and working properly.

Have a great day.

Actually it's ~$8 worth of components leaving $22 in labor (30 minutes maybe) - All in all that's not really too bad.

On the other hand; I made up a couple of sets when I was planning on using gutted cats. They are not hard to make at all.
